When you’re ready to launch your new club, walk into the launch meeting prepared to demonstrate Toastmasters and then close the sale with the new members. The kit below will give you everything you need to start your club except for your guests and your experienced members to do the demonstration and help start the club.
Purchase a plastic file box of some kind. Inexpensive boxes are available at many discount stores such as Wal-Mart. Place everything below into the box for easy transport.
- Print a copy of the How to Build a Toastmasters Club for reference.
- 25 pocket folders (Example from Amazon for $7 : http://www.amazon.com/Oxford-Pocket-Folders-Assorted-57513/dp/B000DZ9XGO/) each containing
- A Toastmaster magazine
- A Find Your Voice or Confidence flier from Toastmasters International (you can get 20 of each for free)
- A copy of the Ice Breaker project (PDF)
- A charter member application (available inside the How to Build a Toastmasters Club document referenced above)
- Suggestion: print the charter applications on yellow paper so that they stand out and are easy to see and collect
- Several printed (and laminated if you want to reuse them) Words of the Day
- Ribbons for Best Speaker, Best Evaluator, Best Table Topics
- A set of meeting ballots
- A stopwatch (or use the Toastmasters International smartphone app)
- Timing cards
- Name tents
- A gavel
- Sample meeting agenda
- Clickers or bells (or whatever tool you like to use for ums and ahs)
- Ink pens
- Post-it Notes
- Thank You Notes
